#WorldHistory

Last night, US troops killed Osama Bin Laden after ten years after the attacks on 9/11.  I was glued to the TV watching the news break about the death of public enemy number one.

As soon as the story broke, I did what I always do when breaking news happens.  I turned on CNN, then grabbed my lap top and so I could experience history while seeing the reactions of people around the world on Facebook and Twitter.  I spent hours watching thew news and reading the reactions of people on Twitter, and interacting with them.   I followed people who were standing outside of the White House celebrating, and others gathering at ground zero.  I watched videos of crowds at Penn State dancing in the streets that were uploaded seconds after it happened.   I love that I get to see history unfolding before my eyes, and I love that I get to experience it with people all over the world thanks to social media.

If I tried to post all of the interesting statuses and tweets, this blog would be entirely too long, but here are a handful.

The Tweets
Unreal. RT The scene at Penn State.

Getting emotional watching the crowds outside of white house. Reminds me of the moments in NYC after 9/11. Surreal.
It's gonna be weird/hilarious talking to anybody who slept through all of this tonight

realized that Obama apparently DID have more important things to address than the disclosure of his birth certificate. Congrats to our Commander-in-Chief and his troops.

Dear Evil, No matter how long it takes we will hunt you down and kill you. -America
won't celebrate death and someone not making it to heaven.. but I do praise our Lord for His love, protection, and justice. Proverbs 24 is a good place to spend some time in tonight. Time to pray for our nation... as well as for the ends of the earth that still sits in darkness.

America! #winning
In response to all these pretentious, holy messages from Christians--You're right...mass murderers who engage in firefights with extraction teams should be treated with kid gloves. Better that our boys should die than the architect of 9/11, right? Justice has been done; I'm a Christian and still ok with that.
When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. (Prov 11:10)
I unapologetically celebrate multitudes of people who will have an opportunity to live because of his death.
Hit me pretty hard to read someone say she has Christian friends celebrating Bin Laden being in hell. I'm proud to serve a just God, but I'm even more proud to serve a God who died for us ALL, and who desires to have each and every single one of us as a part of His kingdom. We all deserve to be in hell... He just loves us enough to overlook that.
Somewhere right now a group of patriotic, badass Americans are celebrating with each other. The rest of America may never learn your names, but thank goodness for great servicemen and women like you.

Isn't He the Cutest Thing You've Ever Seen

This might be the cutest picture Jeter has ever taken.

Honestly

I'm a pretty honest person. When I was in elementary school, the teachers at my private school picked a character trait that they thought described each child in their class each year. It was a trait they saw in the child, and they gave our parents a certificate with our name and our chosen character trait. I have four character trait certificates. Three years I received "Honesty." The fourth year I mixed it up a little: "Truthfulness." That being said, I need to be honest for a minute. I think I have a problem with honesty. I know! I was surprised, too, when I realized it. But it's not what you think. So before you start trying to figure out what lies I may have told you, let me explain. You know how you can look back and realize something that happened to you would teach you a lesson one day? There are several moments in my life that helped come to the realization that my elementary school certificates might be invalid... Texas, Fall 2008...

All I Really Want is to be Found

I have done all the right things for all the wrong reasons I have been here before, it seems like time and time again I keep trying to find life in the places life's not found I'm recessitating old flames without thoughts of getting burned It is possible that I Could ever get it right There is nowhere else to go There is no one else to run to All around is quickly fading All I know is You've always been there Always been there, you've always been there Always been there I have seen all the endings to all my sad stories And they leave me alone, everytime its just the same You have fully accepted me with my failures Through the cross of my King, it's your mercy and your grace Is it possible that I Could finally get it right Yesterday has come and gone Everything I thought I had was wrong All I really want is to be found This is what I know, I have nowhere else to go - I have no one else to run to All around is quickly fading - All I have is...
